The 8th annual Mind to Muscle Cup is collecting food for the Foodbank!

Join us at the Allandale Recreational Centre in Barrie on Wednesday, July 26th at 5 pm for the 8th annual Mind to Muscle Cup. This year, M2M is partnering with Purolator, OHL Barrie Colts, Barrie Colts AAA Hockey Association, and the North Central Predator Hockey Association to support the Barrie Food Bank and tackle hunger in our community.

The Barrie Food Bank, a "Community Foodbank" supported by local residents, businesses, and community partners, plays a vital role in the lives of women, men, and children facing food insecurity. Sharon Palmer, the Executive Director, reveals that food bank usage has increased by 54% compared to last year, with over 5000 individuals relying on their food support every month.

During the event, Purolator and their local Tackle Hunger Team will be collecting non-perishable food donations and accepting monetary gifts at the venue. We encourage everyone to bring a donation and contribute to this worthy cause. Barrie Colts AAA Hockey Association teams and players will be contributing their efforts to help collect food or monetary donations.

Last year, the event brought in over 2500 lbs of food and $1000 in donations. This year we are hoping to double both of those numbers!

In addition to the food drive, attendees will have the opportunity to watch M2M athletes in action during the M2M Cup 2023. These athletes, who have honed their skills at the M2M training facility, will showcase their talent on the ice. The game will feature top players from various leagues including PRO, OHL, NCAA, and CIS.

This exciting event is completely FREE for all to attend. For those who attend the event, Charlie Horse from the Barrie Colts will be present, free popcorn and Domino's pizza will be available for those who bring a food donation (while supplies last). The main focus of the event is a fast-paced and competitive hockey game, showcasing the exceptional talent of local hockey players. Our primary goal is to assist the Barrie Food Bank by restocking their shelves and helping those in need.

We need your help to make a difference! Come and enjoy the thrilling speed and skill displayed by these elite local hockey players while bringing along a food or monetary donation. Admission to the event is FREE, so don't miss out!
