9th Annual Mind to Muscle Cup Was a Success!

On Tuesday, July 30th, at 6:30 pm, the 9th Annual Mind to Muscle Cup was a success! Mind to Muscle partnered with Purolator, Dominos, and the OHL Barrie Colts to support the Barrie Food Bank and tackle hunger in the community.
The event featured a fast-paced competitive hockey game, showcasing the exceptional talent of local players from the NHL, PRO, OHL, NCAA, and CIS. Charlie Horse from the Barrie Colts was present, and Purolator and their local Tackle Hunger team were on-site collecting non-perishable food and monetary donations. Attendees enjoyed the free popcorn and Domino's pizza during the game.
Amid growing concerns about food insecurity in the region, the Barrie Food Bank remains a crucial resource. Sharon Palmer, the Executive Director of Barrie Food Bank, reported a dramatic 95% increase in food bank usage from last year, with over 7,000 individuals relying on the service each month. The Mind to Muscle Cup aimed to alleviate this strain by bringing the community together to support the Barrie Food Bank and successfully did so by raising 755 lbs of food and $2000 in donations.
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event; we are looking forward to seeing you all again next year!
